By default, the mouse cursor size is only around three millimeters. A simple modification you can do to your Mac’s cursor is to enlarge it. To do this:
Click the Apple icon in the top-left corner and go to System Preferences. Click Accessibility, then scroll down to Display. Go to the Pointer tab. Depending on your region, it may say Cursor instead. Adjust the slider beside Pointer size to make it larger based on your preference. Depending on your region, it may say Cursor size instead.
Other Ways to See Your Cursor Better on Mac
Aside from changing the cursor’s size, there are other things you can do to help you locate your cursor faster.
Change the Color of Your Cursor
Aside from enlarging it, you can also change your cursor’s color. This can be helpful for people with color blindness or those who find it difficult to find their cursor amid the visual noise on their screens. To do this:
Go to System Preferences > Accessibility. Select Display, then click the Pointer or Cursor tab. Click the color swatch beside the Pointer outline color and Pointer fill color and select a color for your cursor’s outline and fill. Click one of the color views (Color Wheel, Color Sliders, Color Palettes, or Pencils) to help you select a color you prefer.
Shake Your Mouse
If your mouse still keeps on disappearing despite these modifications, there is still one trick you can do. Rapidly moving your cursor back and forth will make it bigger for a few seconds, just long enough for you to find where it is.
If this isn’t working, it may not be enabled. To check, just head back to Accessibility > Display, click Pointer, then tick the box beside Shake mouse pointer to locate.
