In Minecraft Dungeons, chests are the main source of loot for the player. Mobs do have a chance to drop weapons, armor, and artifacts, but more often than not upgrades for the player will come from chests. As such, knowing how to find chests is vital to raising power.

Finding these chests is actually a relatively simple task, but it can be time consuming. There are some things to take into account when it comes to hunting for loot which will make the process both easier and faster that players should keep in mind.
The first and most important thing to know is that chests show up on the player’s map. This is huge because even if one doesn’t actually see a chest (say it was hidden behind a tree or something), the map will show the exact location of it. Players wanting to find every chest in the map need simply fill out the entire map and check it frequently to be sure they didn’t miss anything. This can be incredibly time consuming as some of Minecraft Dungeons’ maps are rather large, but there are of course some workarounds for this.
The main way to speed this process up is through armor, enchantments, and artifacts which boost movement speed. The Boots of Swiftness are by far going to be players’ best friend here, as they allow a substantial boost to movement speed every five seconds or so. Beyond this, enchantments like Swiftfooted (increased movement speed after rolling) also help, and there are some armors which grant movement speed auras. Of course, it is also important that the player is still well enough equipped for combat to survive the enemies which they will no doubt encounter.
There is also something to be said for the usefulness of finding these chests. While they do have the potential to grant some nice gear, a lot of gear also comes from defeating the bosses and opening the chest at the end of each level. Players should also keep in mind that chests found from secrets, carried on the back of pigs, or marked supply chests do not count towards the total number of chests on the map. It may not be worth going too far out of the way to hunt these down, but that will be up to each player’s opinion.
Minecraft Dungeons is available now for PC, PS4, Switch, and Xbox One.
